The Distress of Sleepless Hours

Restlessness can possess you like a vice during the night. Every sound becomes amplified, every shadow takes on a threatening form. You toss and turn, your concerns multiplying, desperate for some elusive peace. Sleep, once a gentle sanctuary, has become a distant fantasy. The hours crawl by, each one an eternity of torment.

We crave for an/a/some escape, a place/safety/shelter where the pain/suffering/anguish can fade/disappear/evaporate, but often/always/sometimes the darkness persists/holds tight/remains. It's in these moments of helplessness that we must find/create/forge our own/internal/personal light/strength/will. We must face/confront/stand against the emptiness/void/terror, and discover/remember/unearth the unbreakable spirit that lies within/deep inside/at our core.
